Life Goes On Financial Road Map with Nancy Juetten
Nancy grew up in the shadows of her family limelight, as the daughter of an actor. She didn’t necessarily realize it, but she was seeking her own individual recognition (don’t miss the “how many likes does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop!).
She became a publicist focused on helping other people get recognized, until the great recession, this challenge forced her (or should I say dared her) to pivot and use those skills at an even grander level and she created a book about how to change bio’s (Bye-Bye Boring Bio Workbook).
This was just the launching pad, including her Life Goes On Road Trip organization program that makes organizing your finances a bit like a treasure hunt, adding an element of fun.
Nancy Juetten
Nancy Juetten guides families to organize their personal financial information and crucial documents before something random or crazy can stop them. The co-creator of the Life Goes On Roadmap® system for personal financial information organization, Nancy is on a mission to touch and transform a million lives by guiding them to take one of 16 essential road stops, one 20 minute segment at a time. This brings power, access and control when the moments matter the most and makes dealing with a bump in the road just a little bit softer for all. Nancy writes a column for the popular Sixty and Me blog site that serves 500,000 women aged 60 and better. Her system is sold individually to homeowners, downsizers, and families across the country from the website, and professional service providers can license and co-brand the system to share with their most valuable clients. She has addressed appreciative audiences at the Garrett Planning Network Annual Retreat, virtual women’s groups, and podcasts such as the Legacy Cafe Podcast, the Conscious Caregiver, and now – Wine and Dime.
Before starting Life Goes On Roadmap in 2018, Nancy launched and grew a successful business coaching practice to guide experts, authors, and speakers to get known and get paid for their expert status by getting ready for opportunity first. In 2009, she wrote the popular Bye-Bye Boring Bio Workbook that is still a go-to source to guide users to transform their boring bios from wallpaper to wow to attract clients now. When life hit the fan for her – with a home burglary, a move to a new city, her mom’s diagnosis with dementia, and her husband suffering a mini-stroke in the middle of the night -- Nancy’s preparation for real life paid off with less drama, trauma, and chaos in the clutch moments. With Life Goes On Roadmap®, she guides her clients to welcome those priceless benefits that are more relevant than ever in the era of the COVID 19 Pandemic. Nancy is quick to say that keeping your head in the sand is a dis-empowering place to stand. The best time to get your act together is right now.

Coaching for the New Modern Family with Terri DeCoster
Terri DeCoster
Terri is a Master in Counseling Psychology, Family Mediator, Coach, and Facilitator specializing in supporting families in transition, in-person or online. As a certified IPEC and Better Apart coach, Terri guides individuals facing stressful family changes caused by separation, divorce, and re-partnering to a place of ease and harmony through co-parent education, conflict management, and communication skills. Terri is a presenter at the Kids First Center and Maine Divorce Workshops.
Terri has attained her Master in Counseling Psychology, Coaching Certificate from iPEC, and Certificate in Family Mediation and has applied this to her calling to support families in transition. She didn’t grow up in a hallmark card family by any means. At a young age, Terri was a child of divorced parents, and the divorce was not “friendly.” Her mom and brother left the household with just the things they could fit in the car.
This childhood experience left a lifetime impression on Terri and she utilized her skills to help other families have a healthier co-parenting experience during and after divorce, with special attention to the experience of the child.
She also has a passion to help others in blended families (or new modern family) through step-family coaching and her volunteer work at the Kid’s First Center.
If you are a blended family, this episode is definitely for you!

The 2017 Sorceress is 100% Grenache from two truly spectacular vineyards. It is 68% from Upland Vineyard and 32% from French Creek Vineyard. This vintage of the Sorceress was aged for 16 months in all French oak barrels (mostly puncheons). The wine saw mostly neutral oak (only about 20% new French oak), and the final blend includes about 45% whole cluster, foot-stomped bunches. The resulting wine is exotic and aromatic. It presents with classic Grenache notes of garrigue, allspice, dark cherries, tobacco, and strawberries; all of which is backed up by fresh acidity, and a long, lingering finish highlighting the refined tannins and brightness of this great wine. This vintage is age-worthy and will continue to develop over the next decade.
Our Feature - Prejean - Cab Franc
Aromas of berry and plum and a warm, lingering finish. A great addition to hearty dishes.
At Prejean Winery, we honor the tradition of winemaking that has been handed down for almost a thousand years. Prejean Winery grows grape varieties that originated in Europe; such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, and Chardonnay. Our Gewurztraminer, planted in 1979, is a mouthful in more ways than one. It is grown in the Alsace region of France. Riesling, also grown in France, but known predominantly in Germany, is now the Finger Lakes’ signature grape variety. Our Dry Riesling has just won the Double Gold Winner in the 2019 San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition. At Prejean Winery, we honor the tradition of winemaking that has been handed down for almost a thousand years.

Financial education is now a necessary skill for survival.
Why empowerment and education? Because education without action fails! So, now what? Your parents likely didn’t face this issue, and you weren’t taught personal finance in school. Where are you supposed to learn how money works? More importantly, how to make money work for you?
On the verge of receiving your first paycheck or laying out your financial plan, you need to know what to do, what not to do, and where your money is supposed to go. Jedidiah Collins faced the same dilemma when he was handed his first paycheck as an NFL player. The idea of planning for his long-term financial security was the last thing on his mind.
In Your Money Vehicle, Jedidiah unwraps the complicated language of money into short, digestible stories that give you the clarity it took him years to find. You’ll walk through ten questions designed to start you on your financial journey and receive guidance on how to get started with cash management, taxes, investments, and more as you create your personal plan. You’ll walk away with the skills to make money work for you and help others do the same!
ROOKIE TO VETERAN PODCAST
ABOUT THIS PODCAST
Good artists borrow, Great artists steal. In Rookie to Veteran we steal success each and every week!
We will approach each topic and guest with a beginners mind, the Rookie mindset. It will be our challenge to use what we learn to close the gap between where we stand today and the goals we have set for ourselves. This phantom gap is our potential.
After traveling through locker rooms in the NFL and hundreds of board room in business, I have come to realize what I do best is take from the best.
Come steal the behaviors of the best and Eliminate your Potential!!
D2 offers abundant dried cranberry and raspberry aromas surging from the glass, with intertwined darker fruits notes of cassis, blueberry, and blackberry. Delicately balanced oak influence contributes cocoa and coffee bean notes while remaining completely respectful of the fruit. This appealing wine is vibrant and extraordinarily fresh on the palate, with persistent fruit flavors of pomegranate and blueberry. Understated and subtle tannin provides welcome structure, while excellent early integration offers accessibility, generosity and abundant pleasure despite the wine’s youth.
Prejean Winery
Featured Finger Lakes Winery
Prejean Winery grows grape varieties that originated in Europe: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Chardonnay. Europe, and generally the French model, was the foundation of the modern wine industry. The regions defined the wines. Bordeaux and Burgundy and Champagne are regions, as well as wines. Each of these regions has grapes that are indigenous to these regions. Bordeaux, for example, grows Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet France, Petite Verdot and Malbec and the wines of Bordeaux are blends, in varying amounts, of these grape varietals. This is the tradition that has been handed down, in some case, for almost a thousand years. But the New World locations had no such history or wine regions – they were blank slates. Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon are planted throughout every major wine region and in some cases have become commodities.
The Finger Lakes, while being an older (New World) region in many ways, is also quite young, too young to have a regional identity tied to specific grapes. But the pioneers of the Finger Lakes wine region had the European example and the most exportable aspect was the varietal. The varietal became the focal point, rather that the region.

The Intersection of Wine, Integrative Medicine, and Finance with Nancy Stabins
In the episode of Wine and Dime I chat with Nancy Stabins. Nancy is the Regional Vice President of the American Wine Society. Is it any surprise that I asked her to be on the show?! Talk about doing what you love and love what you do...Nancy and her husband (a wine judge) have explored the world through their passion for wine. Although Nancy and I geek out about wine, we also explore how Nancy, who is an RN, turned her son’s diagnosis at a young age into a successful integrative medicine business. My favorite quote from this recording is, “May we never know the disease we prevent.”
Nancy is trained as an RN and has certifications in Natural Health Care and Homeopathy. She is a Loomis Digestive Enzyme Specialist. She became interested in complementary health methods because of medical concerns with her own children. Nancy has been working in the health care industry for over thirty years and started Natural Alternatives, Inc. in 1995. Nancy specializes in Energetic Health assessments using EAV (Electro Acupuncture according to Voll), homotoxicology, digestive issues and basic nutrition. She taught for 10 years through Trinity School of Natural Health. She is President and owner of Natural Alternatives, Inc.
Services offered by Nancy include:
Energetic Evaluations using EAV (Electro-Acupuncture according to Voll)

Wines talked about in the episode:
Nancy -
Domaine Du Vieux Télégraphe Châteauneuf-Du-Pape La Crau
Bright ruby. Lively, musky aromas of red berries, cherry, anise, earth and spices, augmented by hints of lavender and resin. Energetic, focused redcurrant and bitter cherry flavors show good definition and pick up minerality with air. Taut on the back end, finishing with solid grip and very good, tangy persistence.
Amy -
This craft-vinted blend of vinifera grape varieties exhibits flavors of ripe flavors of raspberry and plum; accented by hints of spice and soft tannins on the finish.

Wine: Amy: Bully Hill Cabernet Franc
CABERNET FRANC
Cabernet Franc, one of the three pillars of the classic Bordeaux blend, has proven itself as a solid producer in the Finger Lakes wine region of New York. A lot of wineries prefer this as their staple red vinifera due to the vines shorter ripening period and cold tolerance. The key to making a fine Cab Franc starts in the vineyard. Pick too early and the wine will have an unsavory green bell pepper characteristic; pick to late and the fruit will be unsound leaving the winemaker rushing to stabilize the wine from spoilage.
Bully Hill makes a downright tasty Cab Franc with the grapes being sourced from Seneca Lake. The current 2013 vintage was fermented in Redwood open top fermenters for maximum tannin and color extraction. Once finished and pressed off, we fill up oak casks down in the cellar to bring this fine wine to fruition. We do small lot production of 500 cases a year and thanks to our happy herd of customers this wine sells out annually!

Mother’s Day Edition - Planning for Grieving Mothers with Carrie Gibson
Hello again Wine and Dime listeners! Mother’s day is a time to honor those special women in our lives that we call mom (or that feel like mom). But what if you are a mom that has lost a child? What is mother’s day like for you? Carrie and Amy explore this topic and how we can show support and friendship to those special women who are grieving and the event she is planning with another month to develop support for each other.
As a reminder, Carrie’s full story can be found in Episode #97 of Wine and Dime
My ability to adapt to different situations in life came from growing up in a professional baseball family, which made it necessary to jump in and out of schools across the country each year (sometimes 4 moves per year). I also am a mother of two boys, having lost the eldest in 2017, when he was 29 and unmarried. I was forced into learning what needed to be done to handle his finances and affairs without any guidance.
No grieving mom is ever alone in the way she feels daily. There are thousands of grieving moms who feel the same way she does. Although each person "deals" with the loss differently, we have all felt the same emotions at some point. Also, since the death of one's child affects every aspect of one's life, it is imperative that individuals who have never experienced the loss of a child understand what a grieving mom goes through emotionally and mentally. Finally, a grieving mom needs to know there are some things that need to be considered and addressed (especially when it comes to an adult child who is single) from a legal and financial perspective.
In my book, Never Alone in the Darkness The Shared Journey of Losing a Child, I write about how to handle an adult deceased child's student loan debt, taxes, paychecks, leased vehicles.
Carrie Gibson
FACEBOOK BOOK PAGE
FACEBOOK PAGE
The Shared Journey of Losing a Child was written by a grieving mother who lost her oldest child in 2017. Feeling isolated, walking on the edge between reality and insanity, she had no idea if what she was feeling was normal. Had other mothers experienced the same emotions when they went through the nightmare of their loss? Finding purpose in her pain, she put her deepest emotions into words so other mothers would always have a reference to read, at any given point in their grief, to identify with a mother who knew firsthand what they were feeling. It was her hope these grieving mothers would then never feel alone in their own journey. She also discovered her words provided a better understanding of grieving mothers to those who had never experienced the unimaginable darkness of losing a child.

There’s bourbon. And then there’s divine inspiration painstakingly crafted into a spirit so sublime you’ll want to share it with the world. We make the second one. ANGEL’S ENVY is what happens when 200 years of bourbon tradition meet an independent master craftsman’s instinct to improve. It’s a total return to the art of craft-first, hand blended batches of 8 to 12 barrels at a time.
We personally taste every barrel throughout each step of the aging process to ensure that the spirits meet our perfectionist standards. This would be enough for any other premium bourbon, but we think you deserve more. That’s why we finish every one of our whiskeys in hand-selected finishing barrels. For an added layer of flavor and complexity, our bourbon and special cask strength are finished in ruby port casks, and our rye is finished in rum barrels. There’s no set time for this process.
It’s only Angel’s Envy when we say it is.
